OUR CHURCH

We are a missionary Baptist Church.

We are a member of the Bartow Baptist Association, The Georgia Baptist Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention.

We are the church with the Ten Commandment monument and cross facing the entrance to Dellinger Park.

We want you to come and worship with us.

CHURCH COVENANT

Having been led, as we believe by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost, we do now in the presence of God and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ.

We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit to walk together in Christian love, to strive for the advancement of this church, in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality, to sustain its worship, ordinances disciple, and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations.

We also engage to maintain family and secret devotions, to religiously educate our children, to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world, to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements. and exemplary in our deportment, to avoid all things tattling, backbiting and excessive anger, to abstain from the sale and use of intoxicating drinks as a beverage, to be zealous in or efforts to advance the kingdom of our Savior.

We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love, to remember one another in prayer, to aid one another in sickness and distress, to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and Christian courtesy in speech, to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation and mindful of the rules of our Savior to secure it without delay.

We moreover engage that when we remove from this place we will, as soon as possible, join some other church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God's word.

About Our Church

2 Corinthians 1:3-7, 11

3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of compassion and the God of all comfort.

4 Who comfort us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

5 For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.

6 If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer.

7 And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.

The above verses that Paul wrote to the Corinthian church many years ago reflect what a church should be about. The people of Pine Grove Baptist Church are reflected in these verses. It describes our church exactly. Jesus created the church and it's members as a living organization representing himself. We have the most caring people in this church who provide comfort to each other and others outside our church. If you get sick, someone here will visit you or send you a card. If you need physical help, someone will help you. If you need prayer, the church will pray for you. If you need emotional support, someone will give you that support. If you are hungry we will feed you from our Food Pantry. If you are broke and can not meet your mortgage or utility payment, help may be available through our Benevolent Fund. If you are struggling with some type of sin or addiction, help is available. If you or a member of your family dies, you can bet you will have a large funeral because most every member will attend. Not only that, but the family of the deceased will be hosted a dinner in our Fellowship Center after the funeral. The point is that every member of our church is comforted and supported by the other members because of our love for each other.

Not only are the members comforted but also people outside our church are given love and support. This is accomplished by contributions to the following ministries and charities.: Annie Armstrong Foreign Missions, Bartow Baptist Association, Pine Grove Benevolent Fund, Christians in the Outdoors, Development Disabilities, Disaster Relief, The  Cooperative Program, Georgia Baptist Children's Home, Gideon's international, Grace Prison Ministries, Lottie Moon Charity, Rock of Ages prison Ministry, Advocates for Bartow's Children, Georgia State Missions, Miscellaneous Charities, and other donations and gifts.

In verse 11 of 2 Corinthians 1, Paul revealed another need he had and that was prayer: "As you help us by your prayers, then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many."

Pine Grove Baptist Church also believes mightily in the power of prayer. We pray often in our services. We pray God will bless our church and that He will send His spirit down to bless our services. We pray for our country, our country's leaders, our local leaders, our Pastor, our members. our military, our revivals, other church's revivals and what ever else we feel needs praying about. We even have a "Prayer List" of people to pray for attached to this web-site, (see above). Suffice it to say, we are a caring, praying and comforting church. We would love for you to come and join in our services and in our love one for another.
