Welcome:

Our church family would like to extend a warm welcome to each visitor and guets. our young people will be leading in our worship service. Please join us in praying for them that the Lord will bless them so they can be a blessing to us. we would like to extend a special welcome to Denver Harris who is here to share his testimony with us. We are excited when visitors and guests are in our services. We want each of you to know that your presence is a blessing to us. It is our prayer that you will be blessed as you worship the Lord with us. It is our desire that you will come back soon and worship with us again.

Nursery

Nursery provided for ages 0 - 3 years. The nursery is open during the morning worship service. It is located in the Sunday School area near the water fountain, the last room on the left before you go into our fellowship center. If you should need assistance, please contact one of the ushers. Don Cowart will be in charge of the nursery.

"Center of My Church"

Focal verses: Colossians 1:24 - 2:7

Look for these truth:

1) Churches need to keep their message focused on Christ to help members grow in Christ, and to facilitate members' walks with Christ.

2) When we spend our money and how we spend our time demonstrates whether or not Christ is at the center of our efforts.

3) Every church that seeks to uphold Christ in a biblical way must work to make sure that its message and its ministry are indeed Christ-centered.

Thanks to all who came to Sunday school. Try to come every Sunday. We are so close to having 100 each Sunday. Let's all do our part by attending faithfully and inviting others to come.

Visitation News

Our next scheduled visitation will be Saturday, March 3rd from 10:00am to 11:30am. If you can't go on the scheduled day please take some time each month to visit. Tracks and door knob hangers are on the cabinet shelf right behind Pastor Green's desk in his office. The office is not locked and you are free to go in and get the supplies you need.

Youth meet Wednesday 6:00 - 8:00pm

Youth supper will be served at 6:00pm. This will be followed by youth choir practice, Bible study and other activities. All youth are encouraged to come.

FYI

The evangelists for our March revival will be Brother Jeff Wulsey - Monday and Tuesday, Brother Blake Dod - Wednesday and Brother Keith Arp - Thuresday and Friday. Pray for these men that the Lord will give them the messages we need to hear. Also pray that the lost will be saved.

Praise the Lord

If you missed last Sunday morning's service you really missed a blessing. Justin Thompson, Lesley Turner and Patti Williamson were baptized. Pray for each one of them that the Lord will bless them so they can be a blessing to others.

Wonder who will be the next to be baptized? Wonder who will be the next to join?

An offering will be received for Grace Prison Outreach of which Brother Bill Avery is President. Conference will follow our worship service.

Youth Recognition

Jonah Gendron who made As and Bs on his report card.

Giles Turner was chosen as a Peer Mentor for the second grade at Cartersville Primary School. He was chosen for his good character and academics. Once a week when his classwork is complete he meets with a kindergarten student as his mentor.

Special Requests

Youth

Don't forget to bring some items for the soldier's care packages. With the holiday season fastly approaching, this would be a great time to emphasize this project. Military personel really miss being with their families, especially during special holidays. What a great time for us to show them Christ's love. The following is a list of items we need: baby wipes, phone cards, magazines, books, movies, hand warmers, foot warmers, tooth brushes, mouthwash, febreeze, body wash, body spray, pringles, crackers, beef jerky, comic books, travel size games, decks of cards, memory sticks, sunscreen, non-carbonated drinks, underwear, thumb tacks, hard candy, blue and black pens, notebooks and envelopes.

The youth group is sponsoring five children in the Weekend Backpack Program through Haley Turner's school. Each week we fill up a bag of food for the kids' to take home so that they have something to eat over the weekend. Kendal has done it herself the past two weeks and has been buying items that the kid's can fix for themselves.... a fresh loaf of bread, PBJ, single serve Chef Boy R Dee, single serve fruit cups, cookie packs, a 1 liter Coke, cracker packs, etc. It averages between $10 and $15 per child. We need some volunteers to sponsor one of the kids each. Kendal can get the food and deliver it to Haley if you can just provide the funds once or twice a month. She can also draw up a sheet to keep up with whose week it is if that would make it easier or you can sponsor a child for a month at a time. Let her know if you are interested.

We are also going to start up the coat/glove/hat drive too. Kendal will get a tote to the church for donations.

Food Pantry

Don't forget to pick up some non-perishable items for the food pantry when you go grocery shopping. There are many families who need help. Food for the pantry and financial support for the benevolent fund are excellent ways we can participate in helping those in need.

From the pen of the Pastor

I want to express my appreciation to all of our youth and youth workers for leading our worship service this morning.

I am so thankful for our youth ministry and the good job our youth leaders are doing. There is truth in the statement that our youth are the church of tomorrow but it is also important that we recognize they are also a part of the church today.

To be honest, I think a good church is made up of people of all age groups, the young, the middle aged and the old. The youth bring a lot of energy and enthusiasm into our ministry. I mentioned recently about preaching in a revival a number of years ago in which several of the youth of the church had just returned from a Superwow session and were on fire for the Lord. We had a good revival that week and it was in large part due to the fact that these young people were fired up for Jesus.

Join me in praying for our youth and all youth in other churches that they will be so "souled out" to Jesus that they will have a positive influence on our church.

* Juanita Green, the wife of former pastor Bro. Jimmie A. Green, who had shoulder replacement surgery.

* Rolanda Blackwell, who is scheduled to have a defibrillator put in February 21st.

* John Atkinson, an employee where Bondo Kirkland works. He suffered severe burns in an accident at work.

Youth Prayer Requests

We have several of our regular youth that are struggling with issues at home that prevent them from attending Wednesday nights. We ask the church for their prayers for these youth.

The Ladies Circle has formed a prayer chain for you to call.
